Spend an unforgettable ten full days in the transition season between late autumn and early winter either hiking or snowshoeing (depending on the conditions) in the remarkable beauty of Pasvik valley, enjoying the sub-arctic wild camping, possibly fishing/winter fishing, northern lights and an unmatched solitude. All this in the knowable hands of a professional wilderness guide used to the conditions and area.

In this trek we are not concentrating so much on walking as feeling the atmosphere of the true solitude that only the treks at this time of year can offer. We will walk through the old-growth pine forest - the northernmost found in Norway, enjoy exclusive early winter fishing opportunities (if the conditions allow), learn about the nature of the area, and enjoy local meals by a campfire. As a specialty, you can also try sleeping by the campfire without a tent using only a tarp as a simple cover, and if there is sufficient amount of snow we will build a quinzee where you can actually sleep (if you want). With some luck, we might also see some spectacular northern lights, and during the darkness we will have good options for stargazing. The arbitrary nature of time comes evident when we visit the unique meeting point between - not just three nations - but also three different time zones. The camera is a must on this trip!

Remember that this is a very demanding trek where it is possible face severe cold. An excellent physical condition, 18 years of age and some previous experience on hiking is required. Apart from the optional open fire and quinzee -camping, we will mostly sleep in tents. In the middle of the trip there is a possibility for having a sauna - either in a cabin or in the exotic sauna tent. In the end of the trip, we will have a nice concluding dinner, sauna and sleep in a cozy Finnish wilderness hotel, so that you will feel relaxed and fresh before going back to home. Welcome to observe the solitude like no other to this unique trip!

This is an all-inclusive hike, so you only need to bring yourself and the clothes you will be wearing. We will also send an thorough briefing well before leaving, so no unexpected surprises here. In these exclusive hikes you will contribute in many aspects of the hike, such as carrying the load (around 10 kg including the food) and sometimes making the food.
